Heavy Montreal Wrap Up + New MTL Show!

What a weekend! Friday and Saturday, we had the distinct honour of playing Heavy Montréal, one of the biggest metal festivals in the world. Great hangs with tons of friends and some mighty sets from metal royalty like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Overkill, Voivod and wealth of others. 70,000 people flooded Parc Jean-Drapeau this weekend, with 40,000 attending on Saturday alone. The good times kicked off Friday night with a sold out launch party at the Katacombes, with sets by Boids, Eagle Tears (more on them in a minute) and the mighty Cancer Bats, performing as their righteous Sabbath tribute, Bat Sabbath.

Montreal blog Sors-Tu? grabbed some photos of the party, while french language weekly Voir.ca deemed our set to be ‘TRÈS rafraichissant’.

The party kept a-rolling Saturday afternoon, with our mid-afternoon set on the Forest stage of the festival proper. Exclaim! was on hand to review the show, noting ‘a surprisingly intimate feel to the set, which blistered and writhed under a canopy of trees. The review went on to assert that despite being on one of the smaller stages, Biblical managed to bring some of the biggest riffs of the first day of the festival.‘  Aesthetic Magazine was also on hand, snagging some great pics of the whole festival that are well worth checking out.

Overall, Heavy Montréal was an amazing experience for us. It was a really special thing to be a part of and we are massively grateful to the wonderful people at Evenko and our team at The Agency Group for having us on aboard. We would also like to thank the amazing city of Montréal for your continued and enthusiastic support.

As such, we’re happy to announce that we’re coming back to see you in just two weeks time!  Remember that band Eagle Tears we mentioned? Well, they’re having a record release at the end of the month and seeing as we’re all like-minded people, they kindly invited us to play.  Be sure to hit their band camp page. Vital listening for fans of Black Oak Arkansas, Mahogany Rush and James Gang.
